Lovely venue. We navigated the ‘track of doom’ without assistance from the RAF or the SAS. The fishing was slow, the river was low, despite all of that, we were reluctant to go.
Thank you.

Really nice venue. Managed to drive down and back up the ‘track of doom’ without having to call out the emergency services, which was a relief, even without a 4x4. Anywho, one nice barbel and a few small chub, all caught on meat. Great place, best of our 3 day trip on The Wye.

Day 3. 1 chub 3.03 and 1 barbel 8.13 today. 1 barbel lost... cut off on the rocks. Over the 3 days I've lost 6 feeders and 4 leads..on the rocks due to debris pulling and moving them on the bottom. Strong mainline and hook lengths required. 3 of the barbel had other hooks with line in their mouths far too fine approx 6lb line. I got cut off on 35lb braid!! Gotta say fantastic sport in this river and the obstacles make it worthy adversary. Back next year ?

Day 2 decided to start in the faster water fishing glms boilies and home made groundbait. First barbel bite at 8am snagged me on the rocks eventually cutting me off. 2nd bite at 9am 5.12 barbel. Quiet for 2 hrs then a 5.08 chub pb. An hour later another chub 3.01. Mid day sunshine was a swim killer... after a long day 18.20pm another barbel 8lb exactly.
Ended the day with 2 of each and 1 lost and 1 canoe. ?

Tricky day fish wise. Only one Chub around 3lb early in the morning. Had to shoot off a bit early at 2.30. Lost something that felt decent just before I left. Lovely spot, saw herons, a kingfisher, Kites and Buzzards.

Day 1 was a very tough day in the deeper slower water. After 3 moves i went into a faster flow and managed a 7lb barbel.

All fish caught on feeder with meat. Fed pellet and hemp but all day very quiet. Caught one early morning and two later afternoon. Lovely spot and great weather. A lot of canoes with inexperienced people on board. Nearly got wiped out 7 times. I wonder if they are briefed on anglers using the river??
Parking in the wood could be better signed with designated bays as I wasn’t sure where to park without blocking the track. The sign at the top of the track that leads down to river wasn’t on display and laid in the grass. Luckily we spotted it. Lovely section of river.

3 fished, 2 sharing a swim. Plenty of canoes that stopped after lunch, all were polite but at least one swim is in a canoe blind spot. River level stable and partly coloured. A local 'expert' reported that the water temperature had recently dropped.
