2 hatches of olives and march Browns browns, each lasting about an hour brought fish to the surface. However we struggled to find a successful pattern. Eventually a size 20 F fly with a GRHE body proved successful. Best fish was around 13in but a larger fish broke me! Given that it was cold with a NE breeze, a surprisingly good day.

Bright, but otherwise good conditions. Plenty of fly life and several rising fish. Only one to the net but missed lost quite a few more. Lovely beat.

Beautiful stretch of river. Biofilm on the base of the river likely from catchment nutrient enrichment/pollution. Nonetheless, some lovely trout around. Best landed 2.5lb. Several other fish missed.

A few rises throughout the day that lasted maybe 2-5 minutes then it would go silent again for an hour or so. No success on dries and overall a very slow day. 1 brown trout landed on a nymph and 1 missed. Fish was returned back into the water.

Hatch at midday but very short lived. Rising trout for a short period. Spider patterns and dry LDO worked well with fish taken on dry and wet flies

Lovely day and a nice Beat. A good hatch around mid-day and rising fish throughout, but despite our best efforts and ringing the changs fishing dry flies only... just the one offer between us. Next time...
