5-30 am start due to hot weather fished swim on tail end of island 4 chub in first 2 hours then just a solitary chub in next 2 hours groundbait feeder with hemp and pellets with meat on the hook accounted for all fish, unfortunately no sign of any barbel.Left early as a mindless idiot in a kayak decided to paddle upstream and walk through my swim towing his kayak,I really do wonder if some people have any sense at all.

Drew a blank. Only 1 angler as one withdrew due to conditions, he made the right call…
Fished around the island. Good access to the beat but the lower swims are now inhibited by the willow growth. Tried multiple baits without success.
Water obviously low but clear. Did meet a nice kingfisher…

Only 2 of us actually made the trip because of the weather and water conditions and the other 2 of us blanked. Not fair to judge this stretch under present conditions for our first trip but it is a difficult place to find and with little water in the river and a continuous canoe traffic on the day we were there it was not surprising we caught nothing.

1 angler, as other couldn't make it. Fished from 6:30am to 11am, then simply became too hot to fish as sun came around from East.
9 good size chub on 12mm pellet. River simply too low, and canoes arrived using the only real water channels available so packed up.
