2nd day in a row for me WUF waters. I got there at first light and in hind sight in would of likely fished the swims differently.. anyway nothing all day despite very systematic approaches on both feeder and float. Inspiration of fishing as light as possible (lead) in fact swam shot and plasterscine. Trying t get the bait moving and as natural looking as possibly. sticking in a swim is given the most time to earlier in the day. I ended up with 2 decent barbel 7 and 9lb a absolute unit of a chub that i think would be 5.5lb in winter. Another nice chub and an eel all very welcome and in 1.5 hours. Canoe traffic was relentless including out of control kids that we literally diving and drinking in my swim!!! After i had my first barbel. I wasn't best pleased.

Yesterdays great run continued - perhaps aided by fishing with P F - possibly one of the barbel fishing worlds greatest talents, we caught 14 barbel (8 PF and 6 TD) - looking forward to Tomorrows W & U adventure. Note to self- I should have heeded P F’s advice on fishing fluorocarbon hook lengths earlier.

Great day, Best barbel was 10Lb 5oz with 2 more in the 7-9 Ib. Barbel caught on 8mm pellet and meat. other was an eel. all caught on the swim next to the stile it was the only one which was accessible for Auld Codgers. !!

Lots of nice chub caught above the island on float fished meat, one Barbel lost on the float too. 2 barbel and a dozen chub taken from the bottom car park swim, all fish taken on meat

A Good last day of our September trip, best Barbel was 9lb 3oz with 4 other 8lb + fish, the other was an eel, back in a few weeks hopefully the weather stays mild & the river levels are up!

Largest Barbel 8.5lbs, largest Chubb 5lb+. 1 angler had rod & reel stolen when moving car (nobody bank side so can only assume somebody from a canoe)
