Another great day on the beautiful Wye.
Once located barbel fed steadily throughout the day.
12 caught to 9-8 on pellet .
River very low and slow
On the down side the ever increasing canoe traffic caused some stress! The majority are well mannered and considerate but alas there are an increasing number who see the river as a childrens playground showing no consideration for anglers with canoes coming down backwards, sideways, out of control, had one canoe bang into the bank in front of my swim, another wipe out my lines and another capsize as they passed. Dangerous, inconsiderate and rude!
Traffic died down by mid afternoon but between 10 and 3pm...nightmare !!!!

Total blank. Very very hot. Swimmers made fishing very tricky. Boat traffic heavy but courteous.

Arrived fashionably late at lunchtime had a look at the top end then drove to the bottom end to start, found it a bit difficult to fish any distance out due to the hundreds of canoes & paddleboarders passing by, moved up the beat trying different swims without a bite. The traffic ceased by 4 o'clock & the river fell silent I made my way back to the bottom end & managed to tempt a Chub of about 3lb followed by a 9lb Barbel & a smaller 1 to finish with, all fish caught on feeder fished pellet. Not sure I would fish the bottom end again as it is very snaggy I had to change the hooklink every cast as it either came back damaged or missing. Always good to be on the Wye.

very slow day, I didn't see a barbel or chub roll all day. I moved 4 times, but only caught a few eels! had to leave at 7pm to head home, so missed the usual evening activity if there was any :/

Unlikely to return to this beat as overhanging trees caused too many problems for casting.
