Plenty of action throughout the day from the island swim, pellet wrapped in paste kept the fish coming. Mostly small fish in the 1-2lb bracket but some better fish to 8lb 4oz were banked. Had a grass snake take up residence at my feet which was a welcome surprise. Beautiful stretch.

Brilliant afternoons fishing! After various mishaps along the M5 were negotiated, was finally fishing at likely looking peg for 1pm. The wind was strongly gusting upstream and the water level was low and dropping.
Fishing pellet on a cage feeder, the rod tip went over after 20 minutes. It took off like an express train and 10 minutes later a 9lber in mint condition was in the net.
The wind dropped a bit, the water level stayed low and it went on from there. Fish all afternoon! Some big, including a brace of 10lbs plus barbel
What a day! :)

Lovely day spent at the lower end of the beat. Willow run and island swims produced fish, all on pellet. All in beautiful condition. Looking forward to coming back. Thanks WUF!

River up and falling looked perfect, unfortunately large amount of weed coming down made it impossible to keep bottom

1st time on this beat and would deffinatly go back. Beautiful area and plenty of swims to fish. Fish caught throughout the day on feeder and pellets and from several different swims. A lot of fish in the 1 to 2lb bracket which bodes well for the future.
Evening was quite eventful as we had to carry out some livestock rescue. 2 of us were below the island when we noticed one of the Hereford calves from the field stood in the channel between the bank and island, no idea how it got there.
It then tried to walk towards the island but got swept off it's feet and was heading off down river. It's head went under a couple of times but fortunately the current and a bit of paddling from the calf brought it close enough to get a landing net over it. We then managed to get it a bit further down so we could grab it and drag it out. It weighed a ton, so while me and my mate lay there wet through and out of breath, the calf ran to it's mum. Lucky for the calf that we were there!
