Much better day with the weather more overcast and some rain showers. Same feeder tactics produced good fish very quickly then swapped to trotting small cubes of meat throughout the middle of the day. The chub were everywhere and feeding well constantly attacking the feeder which caused a few problems getting snagged under rocks. Swapping to straight lead and pva bag helped. Other were eels.
No barbel this trip but will try again towards the end of the summer hopefully water temp will be down and a bit more flow. Will probably skip July next year.

River very low and slow. Feeder with pellet and hemp and hard pellet on a hair produced a few chub of a very good size but very slow going.

Another beautiful day on the River Wye. Enjoyed not only by fishermen but by numerous canoeists, swimmers, picnickers and sunbathers! We did fish through the middle of the day but surprised on how busy the river was for a midweek date!
Surprisingly the chub were obliging all day with one solitary Barbel. River very low and warm could really do with some rain in the next week or so.

Great days fishing on a lovely stretch of water thank you WAU.

Limited swim access, river low and mostswims overgrown with nettles etc. Really only 5 swims available and there was 4 fishing. One of the 5 swims was running to shallow and full of rocks so not really fishable for course anglers. I ended up fishing the water works swim, but again access very difficult having to clamber down 3 levels to get to the river, then no flat ground to sit comfortably.

Lots of eels, 3 caught one of which was very large, but they attacked the baits all the time, snapping line. Only bread bait was safe to use.

Excellent days fishing arrived at 2pm weather was very hot and sunny and the river is very low and clear, decided to start on the float and caught chub steadily from the start alternating pellet and meat on the hook. The fish ranged from 2lb up to the 2 biggest of 5lb 4oz and a real old warrior of exactly 6lb that was very spawned out and could easily go 7in the winter.Stayed on until dusk and changed to groundbait feeder hoping for a barbel but unfortunately no luck.
