Fishing time 15:-00 to 19:00.not as productive as my first 2 days. Fished the middle section of this beat , lovely deep channels with long pools and riffles. Saw a few fish rising in The pools, but I didn't fish those. I concentrated on where I would’ve thought there would be more fish, deep fast channels after a riffle. only 1 grayling rose to the dry and had 3 missed opportunities, I fished 2 nymphs, dry dropper and dry fly only. I think early morning is the best time right now. Water temp and flow is low right now,
I can’t wait to visit again when there a bit more flow and it’s a bit cooler. Loved my 3 days on the wye, the most beautiful river

Incredible venue. Got lost after walking across the bridge., didn’t even need 1/5 th of the beat, but now I’m excited to explore the rest. Thank you for managing this so well.

Nice dry evening, although a gusty wind blowing downstream making casting a little difficult. Fished for 2 hours (6-8pm).

One small, one medium, one large - all grayling. And one substantial brown trout, under a tree. All on spiders (wet flies).

Be careful as the boulders and rocks are very slippery ! Despite studs on rubber soles, I slipped and went splashing in !!!

River was 15.5 deg at 10.30 on arrival, and 17.9 deg at 17.30 when I stopped fishing.
Fished the top half of the beat. Caught 7 grayling to 14" and 2x12" trout. All when fishing a small bead head nymph through the riffles.
Kingfisher on patrol. Good to be out and about.

Late evening only - dry, calm, warm. Fewer insects than expected. Water (upstream here) cooler than downstream river.

A decent grayling taken on drifting a wet fly downstream. Also trout and one other grayling. All fish were safely returned.

Single digit temps over night had brought water down to 15’C. Landed a couple, lost a few more. All in all an enjoyable days fishing.
