didnt fish. heavy rain during the night had put the river up even higher than on tuesday so i knew it wouldnt have been possible.

as much as i love this beat, when the water is high it is very difficult and somewhat dangerous too fish ! ( 8.5 on ddol gauge )
luckily it was crystal clear so i could see where i was going but it was running so fast it was hard too stand ! and to cap it all the wind got up during the morning and filled the river up with leaves !. somehow i managed to catch a tiny grayling later on which somewhat saved the day.

River was a raging torrent at over 4 meters on the gauges - washed off

more rain during the night, so i was surprised to see the river quite clear and at a reasonable level. fish all caught bottom and top ends of the lower section. i thought the river would start to rise after the rain but i didnt realize quite how quickly this could happen ! ( it was rather difficult getting back across the river from the top pool, word of warning there! ) by the time i had walked back to the middle of the beat, the river had rose about 1 foot and coloured up dramatically !.this was around lunchtime but it was the end of the day for me. all fish caught on nymphs.

A wet showery day with little wind.Had 11 fish including 6 grayling and 5 browns upto 12 inches on nymphs and cdc dries between two anglers
