conditions looking really nice today, water down to good level and clear. had a few grayling to 14" in the morning and then just before midday there was a small hatch of olives and I saw 1 fish rise ( I`ve been out fishing for the last 6 days and its the first one I`ve seen ! ) quick change of tactics and after the third rise she was in the net. well after that I couldn't buy another fish anywhere.

Very heavy rain overnight left the river practically unfishable. One very small brownie taken and returned. When river is running this high precluding wading along the river the access along the bank is impossible due to fences.

Another great day on this beat, two of us managed 15 grayling (one 51cm!) and a handful of trout up to 2lb. There was a slight rise in water overnight which I think killed the fishing for the day as it wasn't as productive as previous trips. Although a small fly hatch around mid-day got some fish looking up on top. The bottom end of the beat produced the most fish, anywhere with clear gravel the grayling are sitting. Already looking forward to another session there.

10 x grayling 10-15 inches, Grayling Steel Blue plus one on a Pink Shrimp. Typical November afternoon, warm, dark, windy and rain on the way. Lots of wild-fowl flying fast overhead and the last of the leaves falling now.

All fish taken in faster water, using small weighted nymphs - all returned safely. We tried running heavier flies through the gutters along the lower half of the beat, - but couldn't tempt anything.
First time for us on this beat, and we will be back.

Very low water through the whole beat. Managed two small grayling between us. One on a green gold head and the other off the top on an Adams. Beautiful day in a beautiful spot - thank you WUF
