Beat:Doldowlod

Fishing:Trout (River)

Fished for 6 hours until rain stopped play. Water temp still low and a gusty upstream wind. One lovely OOS, 16 inch fin perfect Grayling on a black beaded nymph. Don't know where the trout are! No rises seen and just a few olives appearing for a short time. The largest Cormorant I've ever seen "canoeing" down the rapids in the middle of the beat !

1 Grayling

No fish caught, river ar reasonable level. Looks as though they have been quite high due to the recent floods, weather gorgeous for February, however banks extremely muddy and slippery. The river is a bit boring all pretty much the same.

I didn't catch anything. The day looked promising, with the right weather and river conditions, unfortunately half an hour into my fishing the felt soles on my waders decided to part company from the boots. This beat is a beautiful stretch of water but with mostly bedrock it is a dangerous place to be without being fully equipped and confident.
My wife and I stayed in the Caer Beris Manor on the Irfon(another beautiful beat). We enjoyed our stay and even got a room upgrade so we were well pleased. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming but I don't think the food is worth writing home about.

Pretty cold with a stiff northerly breeze all day. Despite the frost the first fish came early in the day - a cracking grayling of around two pounds taken Czech nymphing. I will often look at a fish like that and think, "If I catch nothing else today..." but half an hour later I'm anxious to know where the next fish is coming from. As it was, nothing more happened until late afternoon when there was a flurry of activity that led to five more grayling and one out of season brown trout. A good day on a lovely stretch of water.

No fish caught or seen. River full of leaves making it impossible to fish in the afternoon.

Good level, nothing special, probably not lot of fish in this beat. Fishing with a very good fisherman with nymps and dry, just 1 small trout and 1 small grayling.

Beautiful setting, very peaceful and tranquil. Unfortunately no fish and didn't see any either. Nice day out though.
