Another awesome WUf day. Struggled in the wheat field up by the bridge in the drizzle....we moved down below church over lunch and caught steadily from 2-9pm off the main flows. Lost a monster at the end of the day. 3 and 4oz Feeder and pellets ruled but larger barbel taken on my 'special' boilies.

The River was back to its clear and low usual summer state so quite hard work to find the fish. Beautiful stretch of water; one of the highlights was a Kingfisher landing on my Son's rod. I've never seen that before.
Barbel from 8oz to 6lb, Chub to around 3lb.

Second trip to this stretch in a couple of weeks. Currently proving difficult due to river conditions. A sunny day and low water did not combine well and just 2 chub to show for our efforts. Hopefully we will see some real rain soon.

We arrived hopeful as the river had risen to .75m overnight after a long spell at its lowest but it turned out to be a pretty tough day. We fished as many swims as we could throughout the full length of the beat with standard pellet approach. Access to the water is good and the beat is a nice flat walk along its length. We found campers fishing the lower meadow but after checking with w&u now understand that there is no agreement in place with the fishery owners to allow this so they should not prevent your access to this meadow

Similarly as hard as the day before. Weather didn't help but nothing we could do about that. Tried numerous swims throughout the stretch with a multitude of baits all to no avail. Two small Barbel both fell to sweetcorn.

A tough day at the Creel. Barbel seemed not to be up for it today. My colleague did manage to find one but the river was unusually quiet with only the occasional chub making an appearance. A lovely day and will be back soon. Thank you for the addition of the steps to assist with access.
