Low and clear. Occasional fish rising and one lost on a dry fly but tough going!

Mixture of dries and nymphs fished NZ method.

Very hard fishing, water very low and clear. No hatch activity or raising fish, managed to connect with one on the nymph but did get it in the net.

Difficult day no action

Great to be back on the river again. Water low and clear, weather not bad at all. I waited all day for that big early season hatch of flies which would bring the fish on feeding - but it never came. Never mind. Four pulls on a downstream nymph, of which one came to the net.

A beautiful day to the immersed in the Welsh spring. The river was too low to be at its best and very bright. Some March browns hatching, but the trout didn’t react. A few fish rising sporadically to large dark olives. 1 nice trout of around a pound caught and returned.

Water conditions good. Lovely warm day with olives and the occasional March brown but nothing rising to the hatches. 1 hard fighting but skinny 15” trout on a nymph
