Sunny and warm (19c) but windy. The upper part of the beat was quite sheltered though. River looked low and clear. Nothing rising despite good variety of fly life. Had 4 to the net on a nymph biggest 15".

Lovely day on one of my favourite beats. Trout were interested in nymphs when the sun was not too directly on the water, between 11 and 12 and between 4 and 5pm. Very few rises seen and no big fly hatches.

The water was very very clear. Strong wind from up stream al day. A hatching window at noon. But zero activity for the freckles.

Nasty blustery winds. Small hatch of LDO at around 2pm which brought a few fish on the feed. I had two on the nymph before and after the hatch and 1 on an emerger pattern during the brief hatch. Biggest of the 3 was on the nymph and was around 1/1.5lb
