Four fish up to a 1lb all taken on nymphs, with a small red tag being the favourite. Didn't start fishing until later than planned so only had a few hours, and it took me a while to find where the fish were holding. Nothing hatching but a good chance I'd just missed it - a lovely, untouched beat that I had all to myself. Tricky wading over bedrock in places but a good mixture of pools, riffles and runs.

Fenni Fach is a lovely beat although I only got to fish about half of it. There’s lots of interesting water to go at. Most of my fish came to nymphs fished in the riffles but I did manage a couple on a small DHE on one of the flats. Waders beware: there are some very deep sections about halfway up the beat.

Saw a few rising and two browns which spooked easily, no takes. Light green hatch, tried a selection of small parachute Adams in green and grey

We've seen so many trouts in the river. Caught only little one on mepps flying C black 15g

Very tough session at Fenni. Fished 2-6pm. A couple of small beauties.

River low and weather hot so hard work. Absolutely stunning stretch of river which we all enjoyed. 3 trout on pheasant tail nymphs

Very hot but beautiful day.
Nothing really rising until about 6 and tailing off by 9 when I had to go home.
Very beautiful beat but lots of bedrock and some quite deep wading so felt soles came in useful ..

I found this beat quite challenging for an evening's fishing. There was a gusty, cold west wind and the river was quite brown from earlier rain (I hope!). Plenty of water in the river making for interesting wading, but not much sign of hatches or fish feeding. With overgrown and steep banks, access to the water was tricky and difficult to cast upstream for a right hander. The "no access" sign on the bottom parking, is quite high up and more visible when coming down the track, than going up. It looks as though this should be great trout water - I will try again in better conditions!

3 trout to around 10oz's, lots of takes on nymph but fish coming off, hard fighting and go balistic when hooked. Lots of water to explore, fish seemed to go off in the afternoon. A bit to breezy for a hatch.
