Fished from 8.30am-3pm. Had a few early on on upstream tungsten-beaded nymphs. Flush hatch of LDO's at 1pm saw the fishery come alive. The majority of the fish caught came to a CDC dun imitation. A great day's sport.

River high but very clear. Despite chilly weather LDOs hatched in huge numbers from 12-3.30pm, but strangely very few fish came to the surface. Those that did were willing to take a Comparadun among numerous naturals. 5 trout : 14"14"13"11"10".

The river is still very cold. I think the recent snow has set back the river by a week or two. Hopefully it will wake up by Easter.

Bright sunlight with water low and clear made fishing difficult. Thought I had hooked the mother of all trout as it tore off line and ran downstream. Turned out to be a 12 inch brownie foul hooked in the dorsal fin. Oh well. Apart from that and a couple of parr, nothing caught. A beautiful stretch though, so will return when there is more water.
