Was planning on fishing the upper section but couldn't get there because of a major shoot and the track down was blocked by the cars of those on the shoot. Would be nice to be warned about these things. Fished a couple of accessible swims but wouldn't like trying to access them if it had been raining.

Lovely day fishing. Weather was good too. River very low and quite clear. Struggled on the float. The Chub were obliging on feeder fished bread so good sport had. Always a pleasure on the Wye.

Quite a tough day with a little chill courtesy of the south easterly wind. We managed a few grayling on nymphs including some out of season trout. Best grayling was about a pound.

3 chub. All at dusk. Feeder with pellets.
Fished all day from dawn. Tough day and worked hard along the beat, from trotting, rolling meat and feeder. River was very low as expected. Had a PB double from here last year - just couldn't find any barbel this time.

Parking is excellent and the access path to the top half of the stretch is fine. The top swims above the first croy haven't been used for some time and were heavily overgrown and need work. I did manage to access them with some effort. This time last year they were in good condition and easily accessible.

The lower swims have always been tricky to access and the path is very difficult and narrow and needs much caution. The river was low enough for me to wade the whole stretch, which was much safer.

It is a very snaggy throughout.
