Perfect river conditions. Lovely long beat with varied water.c Black Frenchie, s24 purple perdigon and rainbow warrior doing the business. Most brownies about a pound but one nearer 3lb. Beautiful condition fish. Just a shame with so much fly life - mayfly, midges & caddis no fish consistently rising.

we had never fished this stretch before. its an absolutely stunning stretch of water. wading is tricky as described and access points can be quite hard to find. there were a few fish rising but none interested in our flies. we tried dry flies and some nymphing but nothing was biting. will definitely return again though as the fish we did see looked stunning.

Very bright but not complaining, lots of fly activity but no fish feeding. Managed 2. fish up to 14”

Hot sunny day. Plenty of fly life, mostly caddis, but no rising fish. Four trout up to 13” caught on spiders.

Water dropping in the morning made the fish turn on, 3 on the Nymph in the first hour but nothing after, no real hatch or rise but pleasant as always.

Cold downstream wind and sunshine through the morning.
Fishing was slow with the olive hatch not really turning the fish on.
Stopped fishing just after midday.

I did not fish as the river was too high, fished Beacons reservoir instead.
