The weather and water looked pretty good as we started out at around 10:00. Despite our best efforts, none of us managed to catch. Our main excitement during the day was when D fell into the river and got soaked, and I fell onto my face on the bank, injuring my nose and breaking the tip of my rod. We tried all methods, and only D managed to come close to fish whilst fishing dry flies in response to a very few rises. Better luck next time perhaps.

7 x brown trout - all between 6 and 10 inches. All taken on dead drifted Green Goldhead Nymphs and Goldhead Copper John - size 14. Beautiful river and enjoyable fishing, thanks very much, will definitely come back.

One brown trout, weighed around 1.5lbs caught on Daddy Long Legs. Hard going in bright sunshine but nice beat. Good service.

Enjoyable day, parking slightly tricky due tight village situation and the access road impassable (to me) being churned up by logging lorries. No salmon caught but instead two trout about the same size as the no. 3 Mepps that I was using, both returned. Only mild annoyance was two canoeists who looked pretty sheepish and cleared off as soon as they saw me I'm pleased to say.

Approx 15 trout to 10" between two rods mainly taken on heavy nymphs in the faster water. Good day, thank you.

The river was well up and slightly coloured which made for tricky wading. An intermittent, stiff downstream breeze added to the challenge (or should I say excuses?). With no sign of fish feeding we tried a variety of tactics employing dries, wets and nymphs. Ultimately we managed to winkle out six trout between us, all to weighted nymphs fished down and across. The best was a plump, feisty fish of about 1.25 lbs. A beautiful and interesting stretch of river.

One small trout, released. A few nibbles but very quiet. A few fish rising briefly late afternoon. Beautiful beat to fish and a lovely day despite lack of success.

A nil return. Between 9am and 2pm continual and heavy rain caused the river to rise dramatically, and so wading became dodgy. Continued to fish, but brown water bashing through meant I called it a day at 2pm. Better luck next time.

Lower, clearer water & sunshine made fishing trickier than the previous week. 2 small trout to emerger pattern in the evening. Rose larger fish twice but failed to connect.

Despite the sunshine and heat we caught 7 WBT to 1lb. Some on blood worm nymph and other to dry fly, x caddis and black midge amongst the successful patterns. All fish returned.
