A new beat to ourselves, we drove from Preston and arrived about 9 o clock. After a walk of the beat we decided to fish 2 adjoining pegs as there was only 2 us and my father in law is not 100% on his feet.
We fished the dead tree peg, the river was nicely coloured and dropping off. We had knocks from the off but only caught at about lunchtime. I caught my first barbel on meat and also a chub, then my father in law caught a barbel on krill pellets. There was a large Salmon splashing around in front of us which was good to see. The rest of the fish came later in the day David caught a barbel just as was getting dark and as it was resting my rod went over so we ended with 2 in the net. David's was the biggest barbel of the day and dwarfed my fish in the net. , We didn't take a decent photo as we just wanted to get them back and the banks were a bit dodgy in the darkness.
Thanks for a great day. Hopefully our other fishing mate gets better soon and join us again.

The second day of my two day visit to Foy bridge, timing couldn't have been worse with 2.5M on overnight Sunday to Monday. Tuesday first light there was still 1.75M on and to be honest only one fishable swim. One small chub fell to pellet early on. Rang the changes with meat, pellet and boilies on the feeder but nothing. Gave up at 14:30 and went home! This stretch is really only a low water venue in my opinion; the river narrows slightly here and any amount of water bolts through!
