For whatever reason the Barbel were in hiding all day, we usually get among a few!
We tried middle of the length and bottom, 5 Chub in total. The middle pegs were pretty snaggy as well, we lost 4 full rigs between us.
Afternoon we went to the top of the stretch, 2 Chub immediately on the tip, so decided on a switch to a big waggler, with us sharing the rod for most of the rest of the session. Feeding plenty of hemp and castors plus small pieces of meat soon had the Chub lining up. We had 29 further Chub between us ranging from 3/4lb to 4lb, mostly on small pieces of meat. It was good fun and something different from sitting watching a tip..........
But where the hech were the Barbel? We fully expected some to turn up over the bed of hemp, castors and meat, but they remained in hiding!!!

Firstly, what a great idea the Fishing Passport is and the directions and accompanying video were extremely helpful.
Started fishing late morning , the river now is dropping back, had a very enjoyable session with 4 barbel all caught on boilies , the best going exactly 7lb with 3 chub all over 3lb.
