A lovely stretch of river. No fish caught probably down to our lack of skill

River very high and coloured after heavy rain.

Spent an afternoon teaching a friend how to fish and I think it's safe to say he is hooked, after he caught a very small but very exciting trout! Water was a good level, slightly murky, and apart from a brief bit of rain, decent weather.

1 Trout

A quick evening fish on a beat new to me. Stuff downstream wind did not help and rapidly falling temperature limited the evening rise. Two fish netted, largest a good 16 inches. Both fell to simple CDC emerger with no body, just with thorax and upright wing. It has accounted for every fish risen or caught on my last three outings.

2 Trout

Warm day, but cooler than yesterday and overcast (around 20C) - a bit of a breeze whipped up around 7pm and there were spots of rain as we drove away. Fished from 5pm for two and a half hours. Water was low and clear, not much moving. A couple of pulls from small-ish feeling trout on PTNs, but nothing more and no evening rise today - likely the changeable weather had something to do with it.
Very pleasant beat and we enjoyed a picnic overlooking the main pool.

Sunny with some trout rising briefly in the glide in the late afternoon. Small hatch of pale UWF and gnats.

Beautiful stretch of water, I'm afraid I didn't really do it justice!

River low and clear no salmon seen. Plenty of trout rising. Large tree has fallen over the river at the top of the only salmon pool on this beat making the best spot difficult to fish properly.

Beat looks great but did not fish due to very coloured water
