The cloud that was forecast for the afternoon didn’t appear and it got brighter and hotter which pretty much knocked any chances of a hatch river was a good height picked up a few but it was a grind .

Good day out, lots of varied fly life all day but only a few small sporadic splashy risers. No consistency that I could see. Fluked one on a nymph behind a dry as I was lifting off. I was more suprised than the fish.

Fished with a dropper the lower part of the beat but no takes or rises. Weather turned nicer and warmer in the afternoon but no hatches that I would had expected.
Gusty wind blowing downstream made casting upstreams challenging.

River 5” above summer low. Water temp +/-10 degrees.
Strong NE winds. Fish caught on Fly. Both fish around 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound

Tough conditions. River high and brown. Very very windy so pleased to land one small wild brown trout half way down the stretch. Caught on a brown nymph and returned
