No fish taken. Mostly small brown trout with a couple of larger fish to about 9/10 inches - all returned. Includes some small salmon parr. Most successful methods: small bead nymphs fished upstream and dry fly black spinner pattern.
Did not fish early or late. Lovely spot and great day out with entertainment at lunch from the wedding party - photos on the bridge etc. One of our anglers had his fishing disturbed by dogs and people swimming in the river and he left a message on the Estate Office phone. He has received a very helpful reply and apology. Apparently, dogs on Estate land should be kept on a lead and walked on the designated footpath which is not along the river bank.

Many thanks for a great day on a beautiful stretch of water (and another at Cefnllysgwynne). And thank you for a highly efficient service that is very easy to use.
I caught the trout (all between 3/4 and 1lb) on micro-klinkhamers during the day (nothing bigger than a 22) and a small elk hair sedge in the evening. All wild and exceptionally beautiful. None kept. But the real event for me was the chub, which weighed between six and seven pounds; one of the best specimens of any species I've caught. A real beauty, with bright gold scales. It took a small pheasant tail nymph.
The river was at a good medium height to begin with, rose and coloured rapidly after intense rain in the morning, then mostly fell back by evening. These changes of state seemed to affect the fishing less than the weather.
We camped at Park Farm, outside Crickhowell, which was fine.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

Fished with the excellent guide/instructor Chris Price and caught the vast majority of 12 trout on the trusted New Zealand style, although thankfully did manage to convince a couple to take small emerger dries. Rising trout few and far between though. Finished the day with a fine trout of about two and a half pounds on a PT gold head in the pool below the bridge.

The river was in a very fishable condition, if a little high and colored. We were very disappointed at the lack of rises and evidence of trout and equally disappointed at the very poor fly life throughout the day, particularly at this time of year. Needless to say we didn't have a fish all day. We learned from a very willing adviser that the estate no longer has a river keeper. Although this was our first visit we felt that this showed and that, for the price, the water is not particularly well managed. I doubt we will return.

Our group of 4 Rods met up with The Fishing Passport's approved Instructor Justin Connolly at Glanusk for 4 hours of Spey casting tuition.
We fished on for 3 hours into the evening, the water was still coloured but it was time well spent on the river practicing the casting, but no fish caught.
Many thanks to Justin for an excellent 4 hours, we all
learned a lot. Hope to come back later in the year.

You would have thought for the first week in June you might hope for better things but the three of us fished all day and saw very few flies and even less fish! Lovely stretch of river that promised more.

Hot bright day. No sign of Salmon but plenty of trout rising on the lower slower reaches of both the upper and lower beats. Good sport with five trout taken by two anglers on the lower beat - Little Stream Pool. Biggest fish 10oz. Flies caught on were Snipe & Purple, and Black & Peacock.
We will be returning.

Certain areas held some rising fish but much of the river had none. A day with splendid conditions with occasional warm sunshine and only light upstream wind.
All fish but one came to the dry fly, in sizes up to 14.
Best fish about 1.5lb.
