Lovely day Nice venue river low and clear Lots of Kingfishers and the rain kept off

Good start at about 8 am with Chub and two Barbel (only one of which was banked) caught in first two hours. River was dropping and fining down. Fish were caught with ledger and pellet bait.
By 11 am bright sunshine prevailed for a good three hours and things slowed down A change in tactics to slowly trotted float in slack water, saw a number of Perch, Dace and Bleak taken with corn, banded pellet and bread. Biggest Perch was about 1.5lb, excellent sport on very light gear.
Day ended with several reasonable Chub caught on return to ledger tactics. All fish between 2 and 4lb. Many in pristine condition.
A good session in ideal surroundings.

Two of us with late start. Fish from lunchtime on, fishies at 7:30. River rising until lunch then steady with some colour. Superb day.

Took a while rotating baits before finding what was working. Once I worked that out, fish came steady to the feeder throughout the day. Biggest barbel was an about 7lb; smallest about 31/2. Chub were voracious hunting the bait often immediately after casting out. Chub were mostly 2-3lb. Still catching when I packed up for the long trip home. A lovely venue and a fantastic day.

Another good day. The area was baited up well by the person who had our swim before us, we bumped into him on the bank.
Conditions not ideal but we both still caught
