Good directions to get to this remote beat. Thanks to other anglers re parking advice as was very wet so we kept the van on the road. Picturesque beat but they need ropes on the the swim access points as was lethal. 2 falls, one angler in water, not good. Nice touch with 2 picnic benches at riverside. Fishing was ok. All chub on pellet best to 3 1/2 lb across 3 different swims.

Overnight rain had flushed a lot of colour into the river and perhaps lowered the temperature. Three of us fished with just one from the handful producing some 20 chub, most around the 1lb mark with the best about 3lb all caught on float fished corn and bread. The other swims were pretty much dead with no amount of bait or method producing anything. Remember...this is a particularly short stretch of water with 4 fishable swims. You get a lot more for your money on other beats. Perhaps that is why the owner tempts anglers by describing it as 'the honey pot' on this part of the river. We found it a disappointment, perhaps others will fare better with improved conditions. If immersing yourself in green is your thing, the opposite trees are spectacular when the sun catches them.

Only arrived about lunchtime and fishing this beat for a few days . No takers in the afternoon but hopefull over the next few days . A lot of colour to the water and going down . Walked down the fields as the access was very muddy and even my Toureg was having difficulties.
To be expected with the amount of rain we’ve had over the past few weeks
