River looking great condition. Lovely stretch but like yesterday on HL4 the fishing was slow. The other rod fished the bend and had a little more success. Caught the fish at miday in pre baited swim. Waited for evening thinking things might happen but they simply didn't. Salmon and pike showing everywhere. I'll be back!!

River rose about a foot during the morning, so fishing quite challenging- but both caught, myself with PB Barbel of 8.5 lb so delighted. Lovely stretch of water and was able to drive a camper van down next to the fishing hut. Stayed at the field behind The Moon in Mordiford where we were made most welcome and ate two fabulous meals, so very much recommended. We will return. The 'other' fish was a large eel around the 2.5lb mark.

First time on the Wye, a very pleasant day. Most fish in the morning and evening, all on 6mm halibut pellets.

Less fish today but bigger, spoilt by too many canoeists.

Booked on rather late as I was passing through. Looked a nice stretch of water, had some extra height and colour from the previous few days apparently. Great setting, but I struggled to hold the bottom in the decent looking runs, even with 3oz feeders. Had 3 barbel between 5 1/2lb and 7lb all falling to pellet between 7:15pm and last knocking. Nice day out, but very expensive when you can get a years ticket to the HAA for the price of two days fishing on the Wye and Usk ticket and fish the next best along.

I have fished here before with good results , but decided to try out areas I had not previously tried. Not with any success unfortunately and one chub to show for it. However the weather was not ideal with steady drizzle/rain pretty much all day , strong winds and quite a lot of debris coming down the river and hitting the line making bait presentation, roaming and casting a bit tricky. Will try again before the season's out when hopefully the weather will be a bit more benign.

Another great day in the Wye Valley. 6lb 4oz Barbel first cast, and 8lb 4oz Barbel last cast bookended 8 others from 3lb 14oz to 6lb 2oz with most around the 5lb mark. With a couple of good chub thrown in.
Fished mainly pellet (everything caught on this) in a variety of swims, caught 5 Barbel in the morning up until about 11ish when I took a break to let a couple of Salmon anglers do their stuff. I know some complain about having to give way to Salmon fishermen but those are the rules, so don't moan, have a word with them, they often know the water better than you. The break gave me time to have a cup of tea, and make up some bait/rigs followed by a good conversation with the Salmon Anglers and it was great to watch an "expert Caster" in action!!
Couple of chub during the afternoon, with the Barbel starting to feed again around 6pm, and five more graced my net, before the long drive home via the roadworks on the M5 (when will they finish!!!).
The only downside of the day was that I lost my Oakley Polarised Sunglasses which would add another £120 to the days costs. However when I got back to the car there were my Sunnies hanging from the car door handle. Thanks guys, you know who you are.

Superb day despite very mixed weather. River up due to rain over previous two days (2ft on the gauge). The swim near the mouth of the Lugg produced all the fish, 2 in the late morning and the rest in the evening. All to pellet/feeder tactics. Chub a touch under 4lbs, Barbel from 4 to 6 and a half. A beautiful beat.
