Beautiful day out, autumn colours everywhere, bit of sun, very light breeze. Just brilliant.
Found a great place on the left side bank, close to the parking. Was rather steep and not ideal for my 10yr old to go down.
Settled on the right hand side instead where gravel beaches were much safer to get to the water.
River level pretty low, but fast. 90gr feeders don't hold bottom.
Tried maggot, robin red pellet, luncheon meat
Tried the float as well
Nothing showed. No bites. Nothing.

1 grayling caught and one lost on the stretch in the middle of the pocket water half way up the stretch. fantastic place to fish no matter how bad the conditions are. Easy wading until you get to the pocket water but treacherous after in bad conditions.

Tough going again today with lots of debris forcing us to fish the near bank. Fallen tree at the bottom of the field past the forest has closed one swim - would be good if it can be removed. One good barbel though to make it a great day - despite the rain at pack up time! Barbel was 9lb 5oz.
