A very hot day best spent in an air condition pub. Beautiful strech of river well maintained with parking right on the bank. Could not find any feeding barbel, three chub caught on pellet in the faster water , also had three eels. Met two salmon anglers who we had a good chat with one of who caught a salmon that morning. We stayed at tressick campsite. Will be back when things cool down a bit????

Very warm day and river dropping. Glen was on hand with good advice as before, but we struggled to find feeding fish.
One 8 lb barbel landed at the bottom of the beat near the Lugg, and chub found almost at the top in clear runs in the streamer weed. A good number of salmon seen through out the day. Thanks again to Glen a great day

Arrived 2pm fished till dark no joy no fish seen. Many thanks to Glynn for his advice and cup of tea – well needed! If anyone finds a pair of glasses in a blue case I’d be grateful if they could leave them under the hut so I might get them back next time, thanks.

Cracking March day down on the Wye nothing better than a bit of Spring; nice easily fishable beat for 1 or maybe 2 rods for a day. No Salmon but had a nice fat 18lb Pike hooked on the opposite bank that gave me a merry run down the river as it kited across the current.

The Wye is the place but not sure about the increase in day rates which has left me priced out on many of the other beats; maybe not the best way to encourage anglers onto the river. Thanks all the same.

WUF Note : Prices have increased on only three Wye Salmon beats this year.

River in poor condition weird brown stain to it. Ive seen it like this before and have never done any good. Today was no exception, no fish and couldn't get any bites. Tried all the favourite places. Enjoyed the walk and scenery and will be back again later in the winter.

Having caught 2 3lb chub on the first few trots down the swim I chose on red maggot I thought I was in for a field day. Then I waited seven hours for another.
Nice to be back on the Wye, shame we struggled so much.
