Fished the bottom of the beat below the fishing hut. There was enough to keep us busy all day, in between the rain, hale and strong protracted gusts of wind. Luckily the estate owner rang me while I was on the way and suggested we park on the bank; much appreciated. At about 1.00, the ducks started lining up ready for the March browns. We enjoyed about half an hour of being surrounded by rising fish, but couldn't compete with the natural flies. WH then switched to euro and fished up the seam by the fast water below the hut. Landed 2 nice fish, had 3 more takes. Earlier I had tried making my way along the bank up river- tough going, so moved back down after a bit of a stumble. Only one of us fell in and it wasn't me! It would be interesting to see what access is like from the top parking. Maybe next time....Alyson at WUF is updating the map to show this is right bank only.

Bright sunny day. V. Clear water. Lightish hatch of spring olive around midday - lost a fish to an imperial. Got one on nymph late on ( about 6pm). V few rising fish. <5 all day - mostly oncers.

Beautiful day and a lovely stretch of river. There were both LDOs and March Browns coming off, but no fish rising. Strange.
I managed to rise 3 fish and catch one -- an immaculate wild brown trout of ~ 1lb.
I looked upstream and it looked like tricky wading (at this height of water) so I just recce's it for future visits.

An early start on the streamy water with barbless nymphs brought plenty of takes and spirited battles. We lost most of the fish, but in the end my little boy landed a beautiful Usk Brown Trout. You can imagine the smile on his face. Many thanks to Fishing Passport for a wonderful week of fishing!

Fished from about 14:30 until 19:30.
Water temp reading 13 degrees.
Fish were rising intermittently and a few mayfly about.
Had 3 Browns on the dry but only landed one.

Euro nymphed a faster riffle later on and had another 2 Browns, but landed none!
Probably should have spent more time euro nymphing the faster water.
Would have had more fish, I suspect and with that water temp, fish will start moving into the quicker water to feed.

I couldn’t make out what they were eating on the surface.
Definitely something very small and despite changing and downsizing my dries, my flies were rejected more than a few times.

Interesting day and not a bad day all things considered.

Brilliant warm sunshine with a cold upstream “gale”. Got a couple on a dun during a brief morning mb hatch then nothing.
A pleasant place to be but is it worth £43 per day?

Sunny, windy day with river low and clear. Nice beat but bank access needs some work to justify the ticket price .
