Went to the bend to see if I could find a barbel, gave it a couple of hours with the greedy chub then went halfway back to try some other swims.
My friend stayed up the upper end and float fished, he didn’t want to lose a load of leads like he did at Dean and Chapter last year!

A lovely stretch of the wye first time fishing here and would go back. Both barbel and chub in very good condition taken on 10mm hinders elips pallets

What a difference from yesterday. Fished the deeper slower end,struggled for bites, fish seem to be in the faster shallower water. Had some welcome rain today. Still a very pleasant day. Other was an eel.

Fantastic days fishing for both of us, all fish were Chub and all caught on the float. I took a friend who is just getting back into fishing, the most Chub he had caught in a day was 4. Well he smashed that yesterday ending up with 51 Chub and one very sore arm from catching so many. He didn’t stop smiling all the way home.
