We caught a salmon, it was about 7lb, caught on a 11ft #7 fly rod with 35lb running line skagit head (450 grain) T10 10” flo tip 12lb leader and most importantly a wille gunn double gold fly (size 8 hook)
Great place to fish i would definitely recommend it.!
Fishing Passport Note 6th May 2026 : The angler has since confirmed that no salmon were caught. Only the Shad.
Please remember that it is illegal for anglers to target them deliberately, although catching shad when salmon or trout fishing is often unavoidable. If you do find yourself connected to one, please don't overplay them, resist any temptation to lift them out of the water and release them as soon as you can.
