Mostly sunny on our last day of 5 on the Wye. Overall, good results considering the weather and river level. Barbel caught during this trip were between 3 and 9 pounds and in superb condition.

Steep banks but great help with ropes in situ. Range of baits caught but meat was the best of the bunch.

Started off in a swim on the downstream half of the beat, was told by another angler that it was a flyer that has produced consistently all summer, (thanks Colin).
After 4 hours and 3 small chub i decided it wasn't !
So i moved to the upstream end where i caught a Barbel first cast then steadily through the afternoon into the evening . All fish fell to either feeder fished pellet or big lumps of freelined meat. Barbel up to 7lb, biggest Chub 4lb 15oz.
A superb days fishing spent on a very well run beat in beautifull surroundings , what more could you want.
