Fished from 6pm till dusk nothing through ripples with a ptn.All caught after a bite to eat and washed down with Henry Westons vintage cider. What an enjoyable break (two grumpy old men sat on the river bank putting the world to right!!) back to fishing, between 8.30 and 9.15 caught 6 including one very nice 15" all on a variation of spent may fly. Another memorable evening.

It all kicked off at about 8pm. All on emergers or CDC Spinners. Sorry to say, 5 takes did not get hooked up- too easily distracted!. They seem to like white CDC. Best to move away from the access points below the footpaths as these are popular with dogwalkers. PLenty of room for everyone.

The longest day no less- fished until dark. Started with a pint in the Bell. Fished from 3pm tp 5pm with only 1 fish caught . Took comfort from Ploughman's pork pies by Gaynan's of Ledbury and some Weston's vintage. Got going again, taking it easy until it was ham roll and cider time, then it all kicked off. Fish were going nuts. 7 dry, mainly emergers and CDC spinners size 18-20. 2 wet on PTN. Largest fish went to JD of Malvern at 14". Smallest 8", rest 10 and 12".

Having not fished this beat before we walked the beat in the morning and fished in the evening. River was coloured . Viz was about 6 inches. We started about half way down the beat and fished upstream with dry flies and nymphs suspended underneath. My son Jon had a nice 12inch brownie on a snipe and purple w. We both had lots of rises but no more connections. Lot of fly life including mayfly.

Seemed a good evening for dog swimming!!

A stunning and wonderfully accessible beat. Easy wading throughout...even if you can't see the bottom.
10 trout and 3 grayling on various nymphs, with most coming from the faster water. The best fish of the day (12-13 inches) was sat in the middle of a fast riffle 1.5ft deep.
7 more trout on the dry as darkness fell. A prolific hatch in the evening of a broad variety of upwings - remarkable by its variety. Small Grey Wulff and Jingler most effective. Fish feeding hard from 9-1030pm, It was only my inability to see the fly that stopped play.
An otter hunted through a pool as I stood waist-deep in the middle of it. It's progress downstream marked by jumping fish. May explain the old injury on this fish? Or predatory birds?

Hoping for a mayfly hatch, but nothing happened. Tempted a few to rise to a mayfly but nothing connected. There were some mayfly about, but no rises.
