Dry day but river rising. Fished downstream of pump on pellet and feeder. I bite all day resulting in a 5lb 9oz Barbel about 16.00. Certainly noted that if the river is high the choice of swim is limited. Didn’t take the van down to the bank today as the risk of not getting back up so humped tackle on our backs. The thought of a pint of Butty Bach at the White Lion kept us going!

First time at White House and it was muddy. Overcast but dry to start with the water level falling and running at quite a pace. We fished at the end of the upstream section with feeders, one on Halibut pellet and one on Red Krill both feeder. Halibut caught one Barbel of 4lb 8oz about mid day followed by a Barbel of 5lb 8oz to Ted Krill at 14.45 and a 7ld 5oz at 15.15. It rained lightly for about 2 hours. There was quite a bit of weed flushing through giving false bites. It was interesting getting back up the hill to say the least. Both got a whack from the electric fences.

The river was around 10’ up but we managed to find some slack water and were rewarded with 39 barbel. All the fish were caught on the usual pellet and feeder method. Excellent sport.

River up and pushing hard. With so much debris coming through we were forced into the nearside banks out of the main flow. Ground too heavy to drive down to the bankside parking areas meant a long walk to the river followed by another long walk to the top of the beat to find fishable swims. For our efforts we were rewarded with a barbel each of 6lb. Not a memorable day on The Wye.
