The river was still quite coloured in the morning, which made wading a bit exciting! Had a decent fish on for 30 seconds in Middle Caban pool.

Plenty of fly life at bottom end, but not one rise seen. One trout of just a few ounces caught on nymph. I mmust find another beat to fish, as this one is no longer as "prolific" as it used to be...

Weather perfect and really looking forward to a new beat today. Unfortunately I had some real difficulty in finding where I was meant to fish, Walked around but I could not locate the named pools and the path seemed to just come to an end. I went back near the parking area and had a go next to the field, Had a few Salmon Parr and lost a good out of season trout that grabbed my small gold head. After 2 hours the felt sole parted company with my boot so that was that.

Several frisky cock fish showing in Sheeport providing great sport, resulting in one taken towards the tail of the pool. Heavily coloured and looking a bit tired, it has to be said, but that's to be expected so late in the season.
Very challenging fishing towards the top end of the pool: edge on bedrock, extremely slippery underfoot, overhanging trees and a slow pace to the current mitigated against taking more fish - probably should of brought a shorter rod for this pool. I will know next time.

Despite the high pressure, low water and bright conditions, cabin fever got the best of me.
Some nice ater especially the Cabans, although wading on the bedrock makes for an uncomfortable and precarious time.
No salmon seen, but an obliging trout took my small waddington.
My main criticism is the compleat lack of bank and access management, making the whole experience more like jungle warfare, barbed wire fences included FOC. Our less abled fishers would not have a chance.

Llyn Em has been kind to me this season. Two more today - 10lbs hen and 15lbs cock on size 12 Bann shrimp. Lost a third after 5 minutes without gaining any line and perhaps 50 yards backing gone. Leader was cut on gutter wall. Would like to have at least seen this one !
