Fished Coleman's on the afternoon until the early evening. Four fish regularly head and tailed amongst the rocks but all resisted my efforts. They must have been there a few weeks now.
Nil return, lovely day for it though.

Beautiful conditions at Wyesham with silver bars showing everywhere, some big beasties too. Fished from very early morning with little action until early afternoon, took a 5.5lb cock grilse on silver stoats tail size 12 (dbl) just below the iron bridge. In excellent condition.
My first ever salmon and has only served to feed the addiction!
Thanks as always to the WUF but also to the ghillie Ray Morris who was incredibly helpful with tips and guidance.

Nil catch at Wyesham, water very low and bright sunshine all day. One Salmon spotted in Viaduct, lept clear out of the water, early in the day. Lots of Canoe activity and dog's chasing sticks thrown in the water, but I guess better Salmon fishing conditions (cloudier, cooler weather) keeps some of this activity to a minimum, especially on a weekday.

Some fish showing, but a blank day in spite of covering the rising fish and several fly changes. I guess some days they take! Plenty of canoe traffic through the day up until about 5.30. All were friendly and polite and did not seem to affect the fish showing.

Nil return. River very very low. A few salmon splashing but mostly dark resident fish. Tough fishing conditions but enjoyable day all the same. Ray very helpful.
Will be back in the Autumn after some rain. A few canoes but not bad considering its August school holidays. Highlight was the Kingfisher.

Very low water, hot and really bright conditions. Ashamed to say hooked and lost a salmon on a tiny stoat's tail. Having come unstuck the fish did an ariel dance all over the pool, to the victor the spoils. Plenty of fish showing including three bright newcomers. Venue terrific, angler failed, must try harder.

Fished The Dukes (am) and The Hut (pm) on Sunday from 0630 'till the early evening. Bright, hot day unfortunately, but water clear and falling after a good spate. I ensured the fly was in the water frequently in line with the recommended tidal timings but saw very few fish and caught naught against all expectations. Beguiling water!
By the bye, some dog owners and their pets from the adjacent Dogagility show ignored the Out of Bounds signs and turned the river into a stick throwing, snarling, barking, churned up cacophony in the late afternoon. That was fun, so we three fisher folk on the beat departed.
