5 fish caught and released the best being just under 1 lb, many other fish missed as the fish rose intermittently to olive hatches. Good conditions appart from a strong downstream wind.

A couple of hours after work on a near perfect river - 1ft 10" and green. Lost one after a few seconds in tail of Spring Pool and then 3 casts later in mouth of the gutter had a take on the inside that turned out to be a fresh run 8lber. Slightly disappointing scrap and was in net in about 4mins. Went back strongly without leaving the water at any stage.

Steady, persistant rain went straight through the wading jacket that had a family of mice liveing in over the winter! In combination with leaking waders I was left wondering is there was any point wearing either!

Sadly no fishing as the river was very high and running fast and dirty....shame as it looks a great beat.

I only managed to fish for just over two hours due to the heaving traffic on my journey up from London after work. I caught five trout and lost a few more from the first pool upstream of where you park your car. All fish caught on a tungsten bead GRHE with an orange butt. I saw one single fish rising from the long glide above which I caught on a sedge pattern. Pity I couldn't spend more time on this nice beat. No doubt I'll be back sometime in the future.

Fished all the way down with no takers then had a go for the trout. Had a couple and a nice grayling to PTN. It had started to get quite cold by the end of the day and the river was still very low.

5 WBT caught and released to 1lb, lovely beat only covered half the water, Grannom hatches from 11am till 2pm, then quieter. Two fish took a Grey Wulf, a very enjoyable day, fished from 10 till 4pm thank you for the recommendation.
