Tough day. The high temperatures have really affected the fishing. Still a pleasure to be out on the water in such lovely surroundings.

I started the day with a wonderful hike along the Four Waterfalls Trail with my wife. The scenery was so breathtaking that we completely lost track of time before heading to Talybont Reservoir, arriving at around 3:20 p.m.
As I have limited experience fishing reservoirs, and with the warm afternoon conditions, I wasn't expecting much. I fished for about an hour and a half but unfortunately didn't catch anything.
Even without a fish, the trip was absolutely worthwhile. The peace, tranquillity, and natural beauty of Wales made for a perfect day. Thank you for a wonderful experience—I look forward to returning again soon.

Very windy, with limited access for fly fishing but that has to be accepted as part of the re-wilding effort. Fantastic scenery and a great public asset. We met 3 Wales Water personnel and they all stopped and chatted. Good day but no fish.

Arrived later in the morning and weather conditions too calm and clear at times. Mainly fished the top end. Fish mainly rising further out where the breeze was. Nice reservoir.

Great day. Perfect conditions, windy, not too much and some cloud and rain. All fish caught at far end in the reed beds area on caddis and nymph. Around 3 other fish hooked but escaped.

Caught 1 nice trout of about 1lb on a Mallard & Claret. Strong winds and high water levels meant not too many places to fish. Lost one.

Is as much as one tenth of the shoreline of Talybont Reservoir currently accessible to anglers? Perhaps Welsh Water is too busy ladling sewage into the Usk (more than 1,300 releases in 2025 alone, online claim) to be able to address this.
