Went to Talybont res in the morning for 8 am lovely day but to windy tried gold head buzzer on the lead with a black olive stayed there until 11am then came back for 7.30pm until 9.00pm the water was lovely and calm so went for a size 16 dry fly had a lovely brownie come up for it twice but missed it my fault but will be going back for another go. The only thing I was concerned about is the amount of slurry that is on the banks each side of the stone blocks ????

WUF note probably not slurry but possibly dead weed growth

I fished from 6pm until 9 hoping to catch the evening rise but there wasn't one really. I started near the old bridge pillars for an hour and half but didn't have any interest in wets, dries or lures.
I then went up to the top end of the reservoir for last hour or so and had one brownie to an Invicta when a few fish started rising sporadically. It was a vicious strike from a fish of about a pound which fought like one three times it's size.
It was flat calm when I left the reservoir but the only things breaking the surface were the wildfowl. Still, a lovely evening in a stunning location.

A strong wind was blowing from the dam direcation which made fishing difficult. I fished from the southern end to half way down along the western bank, mainly looking for sheltered bays, and had one brownie on a Coch.

Bright sunny day with just a few little clouds. Wind about 3Bft SE. I fished from the west bank and started with a wet and a buzzer under a strike indicator made out of yarn. I saw fish rising but beyond casting reach for me. I kept casting in the direction of the rises but I was about 30 feet short. When I noticed that trout was attacking my strike indicator, I changed to a bushy black dry and I got one serious strike, wich I managed to miss because I tried to set the hook by lifting the rod in stead of striking it with my fly line in the water and keeping contact that way. So, I didn’t land any fish, but I had a great day casting and one big adrenaline rush from a violent strike and all that in a stunning scenery.
