A hard day, probably due to the fact it was minus four when we arrived. That said, with the river in good order and falling slowly we hoped the Chub might show at least - we rotated the usual swims but with no interest. Having settled into a nice looking swim for the last couple of hours MP saved the day with a late Chub of around four pounds. A beautiful place to be whatever the outcome. Note: The swim beneath the trees just downstream of the croy has a feeder and a significant amount of line hanging in it (not ours) which partly inhibits casting here. It is still fishable but take care and look up!.

Nice stretch with good parking, bit of a walk but good access and banks. River was high so fished slack water close in. Caught an eel on spam, switched to source pellet, had a barbel (3pm) 9lb. Good result for 3 hrs fishing!

Started the day fishing top and middle sections of the beat. 3 barbel caught fishing the crease line as the river began to rapidly rise. Soon the river was too high for this area so spent the afternoon exploring the lower end of the fishery. Amount of leaves and debris made life difficult but managed to find 2 more barbel through the afternoon including my first wye double. Worth taking a rope to access some swims though plenty of access to more comfortable swims if not carrying one.

Difficult session, two fished but very few bites and only one chub on the bank. Tried various baits and all swims.

River dropping and looked really good. Banks very slippery and dog spike and rope essential kit. Sadly didn't deliver as we hoped and fishing very tough,

Two Anglers, as i booked both places. We both caught just a solo Chub each on a difficult day. We expected more than the river gave us, as the reports have been good lately, despite the river condition. Lots of storm debris still coming through a really good looking river. More leaves in the river than on the surrounding trees, etc. Just looking for excuses really for not catching more than we did.
Meat and pellet for the chub. Covered plenty of different swims and rang all the normal changes.

Thats fishing. We do like this stretch and will be back soon.

All fish were caught on the first swim after the gate. Despite it having rained the night prior and the river running at 3 and half metres, we had a decent supply of bites even in these conditions. The largest Barbel of the day was approx 10lb and all fish fought well.
Lovely, peaceful and beautiful surroundings with the woods opposite and views behind.

We arrived at a rapidly rising river where the Mordiford guage was over 4metres when we left. 5 barbel and a chub caught from the first and second field. Whole trees were coming down the flood water made it an interesting day and topped off by a couple of typhoon flying overhead.
