River was pushing through fast with lots of debrie including a whole tree at one point, the top croy was submerged. I found a swim about halfway up that had some slack water & fished pellet & feeder tactics, fish came steadily throughout the day, biggest barbel 9lb, lots of weed catching on line made presentation difficult. This is a very peaceful & beautiful place to spend the day the autumn sunshine catching the trees on the valley sides was stunning. Walk back up the hill to the car with a heavy rucksack proved I'm not as fit as I thought. Thanks WUF for making it possible for me spend some time in such a lovley part of the world ????

Difficult day fishing wise with one barbel and a few chub landed between us, bright sunshine and the colour dropping out through the day might have had something to do with it I think, this beat has great potential When conditions are perfect. However, and this is a BIG however! what a stunning place to enjoy a days fishing! One of the most picturesque places I have ever fished. The wildlife and scenery is unbeatable in my opinion and the fish were absolutely immaculate specimens. all chub ranging between 3 to 5lb mark and the barbel was a shade over 8lbs so a big barbel for the wye and a new wye PB for myself. Many thanks to the wye and usk foundation from us both for a very enjoyable day in simply breathtaking surroundings.

It's a long drive and it was Saturday, I was never going to get there early. However, managed about 5 hours on the bank. A lost barbel followed by a chub as evening descended, and then a barbel as the light started to fade. Such a stunning part of the world.

only 1 chub to show for a lot of effort . Tried 4 swims throughout the day although much work required to get to water .
Weed festooned around line within seconds of feeder hitting bottom and noisy canoeists ( music and alcohol ) did not help the experience . This beat is not ideal if you want an easy day fishing and it's easy to see why it's lightly fished .

Not a good day, 12hrs watching the rod and not even a twitch. Tried all the usual methods that have worked well in the past. In the past have always fished this swim in flood conditions and usually raining, this time very shallow, crystal clear and surprisingly warm water also a scorching hot day. Some big salmon jumping all day. I think we need some rain.
