A tough afternoon on a river that was high and rose further while I was there. Managed to winkle out a nice 3lb chub which in the circumstances I was happy with. Many thanks to my fellow angler who lent me a bank stick and who gifted me his simple but ingenious rod retainer.

A tricky afternoon session with the river high and still rising. Winkled out a single 3lb chub. Many thanks to my fellow angler who lent me a bank stick and who gave me his ingenious little gadget for retaining the rod butt.

The river was rising and looked good. Unfortunately there was a lot of detached algae floating down stream, catching on the line and pulling my feeder around, could only keep a bait in the water 5 to 10 mins. Didn't seem to put the fish off though.
Only fished half the day as weed collection was getting frustrating.
