One angler fished.
Had a fantastic day here a couple of weeks ago. So booked again.
I knew canoes would be busy being a Sunday. So planned to fish either side of the hours they came down. Then keep a line in the water on the near bank as they tend to come down the far bank to navigate the rapids.
What can I say...
Barbel first cast...again. fish caught steadily all day.
I don't even bother with last swim below shallows just snags and weed.
Incredible day.

Gorgeous beat, so much life there. My daughter inbetween fishing was catching minnows, stone loaches and bullheads in the shallows . Saw a massive shoal of around 500 mini barbel swim past us both and I've never seen that before and is a good indication for the future. Both barbel caught rolling meat and the eel of around 1.5lb also took the meat. Wildlife was phenomenal, my thanks to the owner for a super little beat.

A short mid morning session which was ruined by a seemingly endless train of canoeists intent on beaching on any gravel area and making as much noise as possible, these particular people had zero respect for the river, it's wildlife and anglers.
Having pointed out on 2 separate occasions that they were in fact trespassing and that the wye Valley is not a public toilet I was met with the usual verbal abuse.!
A poignant reminder why I tend to avoid fishing the wye in the summer months.

River extremely low but caught steadily all day. Lost 3 or 4 as well. Barbel were all between 4-6 pound and chub 3-4 pound. Other was a nice sized eel. Made up for the blank, the previous day, at How Caple Court.

Having fished 2 days I believe this beat should be closed until water levels rise. Canoes are a problem they get stuck . Lack of water. If I had known before I would have postponed my trip having driven 300 mile round trip. The river near Ross has decent water to fish .
