All fish caught on rolling meat

1 Barbel, 5 Chub

Great days fishing. Caught my first ever Barbel. Canoes were a bit of pain especially the one that overturned.

3 Barbel, 6 Chub

Only fished between 1400 and 1700.
Hardly any canoe traffic at this time (less than 10 over the time).
Fished the top croy, trotting down the far bank.
All fish 2 to 4 lb.
Lovely afternoon.
Also hooked a fleece jacket which took a bit more landing, and unfortunately could not be revived so was put in the bin...

At over £30 per day for coarse fishing, Wyebank needs safer access. The path from the community car park is seriously overgrown, blocked or crumbling in places. Nimbler, younger anglers may not have major difficulty in walking the beat length (around 300 metres) but it is a potential health and safety issue for older, less agile people.
The level came up quickly late morning. Tried moving to an accessible peg. The only option was the concrete steps / boat launch platform but the water was too fast and dirty by then and carrying too many large snags (eg branches, uprooted vegetation to be fishable.

Good days fishing, we had finally had some rain so the levels were better but still low, all fish came to feeder tactics. As for the access the beat has still not had any maintenance so without waders we would not have been able to access the bottom of the beat. Not for the faint hearted as access is poor but definitely worth the effort if your up for the challenge.

We refused to fish upon arrival. River far too low today. Too shallow to fish effectively. Lots of rubbish and litter.
