The river looked lovely. There was a strong cold wind which may have kept the fish down. When I arrived there were grannom on the wing, and a hatch was under way. I saw 5 rising fish, but failed to entice any of them. The hatch ended and there was no sign of fish. I kept on my dry fly on, as I was keen to try and catch a rising fish. At about 3pm the grannom started hatching off again, and a few trout started rising, but once again they ignored my offerings. A lovely day, though sad I never solved what the trout wanted.
This beat at this height of water ~ 10" on the Brecon gauge is a seriously deep wade. I had water to within inches of the top of my waders, and I'm a big lad. Worth noting if your planning to fish Chain Bridge.
No trout, but many questions !

Arrived at 10 a.m. with a hatch of olives all ready underway. March browns hatched at midday along with a huge hatch of grannom which went on for a couple of hours. Very few risers. Had pulls on olive, march brown nymphs and green sedge pupa at appropriate times but none landed except a runt of a salmon parr. A glorious warm and sunny spring day with temp nudging 70 degrees.

5 trout from about 30cm up to about 40cm taken on dry fly during a brief hatch of March Browns and LDO at lunchtime. Otherwise a bit quiet. The weather was hot an sunny and this probably limited activity a bit.

Fished with John Lewis from top run through to bridge. Fished sub surface spiders of grannom and March Brown pattern size14 with great success landing 12 fish each between 11 and 3". The fish were mainly small though contacted one in woodstream of around 3lb which tore line off at will and decided it was not going to play ball. Eventually lost it after about 10 mins on 3lb line which was disappointing.

Water was perfect, clear and 0.9m on the gauge by the bridge. Second time I have been here and I will be back, just a bit early I guess, no salmon seen or contacted. Lots of trout above and below the bridge rising to a hatch (March Browns?) Many thanks.

River 0.9m nice colour. Fished hard for salmo salar but no sign. A lovely day with good company. Reasonable hatch of march browns at 1pm with some risers. Had 6 takes on a march brown spider. Lost 2 after playing, a good one near the net. Caught two 1/2 lbers at the end safely returned. A very pleasant interlude.

River in good order. Breezy day making casting testing at times. Fished mainly for salmon with none seen. The best hatch of march browns I have seen for years occurred at 1p.m., amazingly only a couple of risers seen. Had two pulls on a march brown nymph.

The weather was wonderful for March and the river was running very clear with plenty of height. No salmon showing anywhere but we pressed on anyway. There was a significant hatch of March Browns at lunch time. Only saw 2 fish rise and we failed to connect with any. A lovely beat though and some really helpful advice from the owner and Lynn - many thanks to both. We will return later in the season.
