Fished from the lucky stones. River still low and bites not as fruitful now temperature dropping but even so were steady throughout the day. That said a PB barbel of 9lbs came early on followed by a 13lbs Pike towards end of the day on pellet!!

River was running very clear we cought the barble on pellets and the chub on meat

Squally rain showers to mid-afternoon, then bright sunshine. Stayed all day but no hatch. No success with nymph in the faster water. A disappointing end to s disappointing season!

Weather overcast with heavy showers throughout the day, river still very low.
Fished the left bank using the feeder, hard going during the morning with just one Chub taken of 2lb 14oz.
Things improved in the afternoon with four Barbel landed, the best being 5lb 9oz. All fish taken on 8mm Halibut pellet.
A very enjoyable day in a great location.

Beautiful 12" wbt caught and released after an uneventful couple of hours! River low and beginning to fill with autumn leaves. No dry fly action and the success was with a weighted nymph in a deeper pool.

This is one of my favourite beats and it was lovely to be back. The river is still very low and clearly needs a good flush through, but it was very pleasant sitting on the river and soaking up the atmosphere. There are a number of kingfishers on this stretch and the bird life in general is prolific. I caught two Barbel and a Chub, using pellet and meat. All fish were in good condition and fought well. I look forward to returning in cooler weather with more water in the river. Thanks W&UF.
