First visit to this beat. Lovely water with easy access in such a beautiful part of Herefordshire. Sadly a quiet day with minimal numbers of fish rising. A few mayfly about in late afternoon.
It certainly needs a repeat visit!

Wild streams day. An excellent day with great company. Finished the day with 5 wbt with many more missed chances! 2 biggest around 1/2 pound taken on size 12 klinkhammer and the rest taking a size 14 pheasant tail nymph. Thank you to all involved.

The was river low and clear and the weather colder and breezy. I struggled to locate any fish with a nymph. Eventually saw a rise so switched to a cdc emerger pattern and was successful on the first cast. A plump 9 inch trout was all I managed but still an enjoyable day.

What a beautiful stretch of River. Dappled sun-light, riffles, ,and glides with regular deep pools. Flies were hatching and dancing in clouds all along this stretch. BUT I DID NOT SEE A TROUT RISE ALL DAY - indeed, although I waded very carefully and used polaroid sunglasses, I did not even see a fish all day - let alone catch one!! I will have to return to this peaceful haven and rectify my failings.

I've fished this beat a number of times before without much success. I keep coming back not only because it is such a stunning place but also because people keep telling me how wonderful the fishing can be. Today I saw a little of that: all six of the fish I caught were absolutely beautiful and the best of them was just over a pound. I arrived early and it was an hour or two before I saw the first rise. This fish refused most of my offerings but finally fell to a bibio so I'm guessing it was feeding on terrestrials falling from the trees. There was a bit of surface action around the middle of the day and I managed to take one fish on a dry mayfly, but pretty much everything else came to the bibio. Lovely day in the spring sunshine.

Tried a heavy headed nymph and a few different wet flies such as Mallard & Claret, Greenwells Glory. River quite low.
First time on this beat- absolutely lovely despite no fish!

Beautiful sunny day but the river was higher than I expected and higher than the Usk catchment stream. Quite clear though. No hatches or rises seen. Trout took small hare's ear goldhead. two dead lambs lying on the bottom at one point upstream of the footbridge.
