Warm and bright day. 7 in total to hand, 'twas hard work though'. Fished the entire length.

A short but enjoyable return to this beat though it seems to have even more thin connecting water than I remembered and the wretched sycamore is rampant in places. Two small early fish on nymph encouraged optimism but then, trawling a promising, short pot of a pool, I connected with a good fish that flashed a foot or more down, jagged about sharply and sent the hook flying back.
Two further losses to the only risers I spotted, which both came to the nymph quietly, was demoralising and bar a solitary Brook Dun which settled on me and a few Mayfly Duns on the wing there wasn't much to bring fish up. Finally hung onto a pretty, red-speckled 11-ouncer after it leapt three times, and before long found I had already waded and wobbled my way to the top of the beat. A bit of careful pruning would open this stretch nicely.

Cold and wet. River in great condition but no fish showing in fairly miserable conditions. One beautiful trout of probably a little over 3/4 lb on klinkhammer.

This is a moody beat and I never seem to catch many fish, but it does keep dragging me back. It's easy wading and has some lovely tree cover. I find the nature of the Honduu is that where the surface might seem featureless, the bed of the river is full of depressions and channels that might hold trout. You have to cover every inch of water. I only connected with and landed 3, all around 8", but had I been "reading" the water I wouldn't have cast to anywhere I caught these fish! All came to a small flashy nymph.

Was quite hopeful today, given the sun, warmth and light breeze. The river had extra water and was coloured from the recent rain, and despite a slow but steady hatch of olives I did not see a single rise or indeed any trout on the forage. Worked hard to tempt 2 trout (7" and 9")on a deep nymph, hard work in the faster water but at least it was lovely weather with plenty of wildlife to be seen.

Nothing caught, no rising fish, one or two mayfly showing and plenty of other flylife above the water. Disappointing beat with long stretches of shallow fast water with no obvious holding features. Luckily had also booked the next beat up so moved on quickly and enjoyed the next beat much more.
