A car was already parked in the parking space and I could not decide whether it was a fisherman or not (nothing on the dash-board) so I decided to try the Upper beat. The water still carries some colour but the trout are becoming interested in taking flies on the surface. All manner of insects were hatching including Mays and sedges. I caught two trout one at 14" on a sedge and the other at 11" on a spider. A better fisherman would have converted a number of other bites and rises but I had a very enjoyable time.

Lots of fly & a fish in every hole need i say more? Mayflies , sedges ,olives, stones and some all fluttering about.. Mayfly on the point right through and unknowingly I was fishing approx 1 hour or so behind another angler and the fishing was still good....
10 fine fettled trout to hand, lost a few, fooled a few...
A fine couple hours.
Spent half hour below bridge downstream and fooled a couple more ...

A short after lunch session, odd fish seen but none tempted to the fly.

It was too nice a day so I decided to stop off on the way home and spend an hour on this beat. I manged a single trout in the about 2 hour session on the third cast on dry fly.
