Water temp a relatively cool 13.5°C so cracked on. Fished from the downstream end upstream, water very low although some pools about thigh deep. It's not possible to fish this beat and move along the stream without getting into waders and moving around carefully, or just fishing one spot; still very enjoyable though. Because it’s narrow it’s difficult to avoid spooking the fish. No fish of any decent size in evidence (despite creeping along at a snail’s pace I may well have spooked them), although plenty of young fry ca. 3-5cm. Saw the odd movement here and there. Lots of low branches and cover, not exactly overgrown, but pretty challenging casting environment. Didn’t bother with the 3wt, although at 7’6” it would have been just about manageable on a short line. Used the Tenkara rod instead, but needed to reduce the 11’ length and pull in about 3 sections to keep it manageable. Ultimately the ‘Bow & Arrow’ casting technique proved most effective to avoid snagging. Very enjoyable morning but sadly, a nil return.

The river was very low and the banks incredibly overgrown, I struggled to fish this beat with a 7ft rod and casting was very difficult. I failed to spot any fish moving and I don't think I will be making a return. The bank access points along the river are dreadful. Hats off to those who can get fish out of this stretch, i have nothing but admiration for your skills.

Very challenging with over grown entry points but once in wading is not so bad but you have to exit every no and again which means fight your way out or back track , having said that its so close to home for me so a go to place , all the trout taken on a dry Adams 14

Lovely river and a great spot - water was crystal clear if a bit low in places could do with another a foot of water.
Tricky wading in a few deep pools with overhanging branches that makes casting tricky. A few March Browns around but not much rising fish.

One lovely grayling and a small trout on a small nymph. Bright sunny day, warm for the time of year. The river was crystal clear and apparently empty of fish, but I managed to winkle a couple out with persistence. Really nice beat. I've fished the Abby Dore Court beat a few times and that's lovely too, but this has more fishable water for its length. I'll fish it again. Me and the dog went home tired and happy.

2 beautiful grayling on size 14 hears ear. Very difficult fishing with lots of over hanging trees and little bank access but great little river. If going in these temperatures would highly recommend as many layers as possible as it’s very cold.
Overall great day out.
